Lisbon, Portugal-Part 2

We returned to Lisbon by train and made some last minute changes to our itinerary. With our date changes we were only able to stay with Luis for a couple of days since he was booked up otherwise. Fortunately we found an apartment for several days. The apartment was great and we were able to visit more of the surrounding area of Lisbon.

Porto

Porto is about 30 minutes by train ride north from Aveiro. It is the second largest city in Portugal and one of the oldest European centers. Porto is also known as the City of Bridges and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1996.

Aveiro

Aveiro is a seaport city just over two hours north of Lisbon by train. Most tourists visit the beaches here during the summer. Our reason for visiting this particular city was to meet another family friend.
