We took our second short leave from Cusco on a night bus to Puno. This was an eight hour ride and would also take care of a night's accommodation. This particular trip segment decision was difficult.

Back in Cusco, our host Bill decided to take his children to the park and asked if my children wanted to come along. Our kids had become fast friends. Maeve loved playing with the youngest 3 year old girl, and Liam and Tim had been having a blast playing with locally purchased plastic cap guns circa 1970. 

"Welcome to Machu Picchu City!" Well, Liam was accurate on that one. Our guide was overly overenthusiastic. Other guides had approached us at the entrance, but we picked this woman because she seemed kind and gentle.
