Valdivia is a lovely town in southern Chile that was made infamous in 1960 by being near the epicenter of the most powerful earthquake ever recorded (9.5 MMS). The earthquake created landslides and tsunamis. 

Liam and I took the opportunity to go salmon fishing while we were staying in Pucon. We didn't know exactly what to expect, but figured it would be a great experience based on the beauty of the rivers and the warmth of the people. 

Pucon is a town of less than 15,000 people that quintuples in population during peak tourist season. It is approximately 700 km south of Pichilemu and is a popular adventure destination for Chileans and other South Americans. It is stunningly beautiful with the Villarica Volcano as a backdrop and there are great restaurants and cafes catering to foodies
