At the moment we are packing and preparing for a long trip back to Chicago before we head to Newfoundland. I wanted to thank everyone for following along and hope that you will continue to read our posts about places we have visited and just haven't gotten the opportunity to write or posts pictures yet.
This post was an idea that a couple of 'FB families on the move' had posted and apparently has been around a bit on social media. After a year of being together 24/7 with most of the time sleeping in the same room, well, you learn a lot about each other. These questions were posed to children to see how well they know their parents. I interviewed Maeve and Liam separately. Let's check out their responses.
What is something Mom and Dad ALWAYS SAY to you?
Maeve: Mom says, 'Did you do your work?' Dad says, 'It's not my fault.'
Liam: Mom says, 'Floss and brush your teeth.' Dad says, 'Stop bickering.'
What makes Mom and Dad Happy?
Maeve: Mom is happy when you clean up after yourself. Dad is happy when you do what he asks the first time.
Liam: Mom is happy when you put on deodorant and brush (I sense a theme). Dad is happy when we say Good Morning at the beginning of the day.
What makes Mom and Dad Sad?
Maeve: When Liam talks back.
Liam: When I am negative.
How do Mom and Dad make you laugh?
Maeve: When Mom sends me selfies. When Dad high fives me.
Liam: When Mom does cheesey 60's stuff like doing dance moves. Dad hits me with a pillow or pitches outrageous job ideas.
What were Mom and Dad like as children?
Maeve: Mom was the youngest and fought with Auntie Carolyn. She would show off how smart she was. Dad was a nerd. He and Auntie Sue would tease each other.
Liam: Mom had a bad haircut/bad hair. At age 12 she looks the same as she does now. Dad was nerdy with big Harry Potter glasses.
What are Mom and Dad's favorite things to do?
Maeve: Mom likes to spend time with family when everyone is in a good mood. Dad likes camping. He thinks he is one with nature and knows everything.
Liam: Mom likes to travel. Dad likes to use his computer.
What do Mom and Dad do when you're not around?
Maeve: I don't want to know what happens when we are not around.
Liam: I don't know. That's not my business.
What would Mom and Dad do if they were famous?
Maeve: Mom would be a famous comedian. Dad would be famous for having the most CD's.
Liam: Mom would get the Nobel Peace Prize by helping special needs people. Dad would be famous for creating an app or website.
What are Mom and Dad good at?
Maeve: Mom is good at embarrassing me. Dad is good at science and math.
Liam: Mom is good at teaching and helping in lots of ways. Dad is good at Earnings Trades.
What are Mom and Dad NOT good at?
Maeve: Mom is not good at picking out clothes without advice. She has no fashion sense. Dad is not good at singing.
Liam: Mom is not good at keeping calm when I screw up. Dad is not good at taking incompetent advice.
What are Mom and Dad's jobs?
Maeve: Mom is a teacher and Dad is an engineer.
Liam: Mom is a special needs teacher and Dad trades stuff on the stock market.
How do Mom and Dad make you proud?
Maeve: They are proud, loving and caring people.
Liam: That they had the idea to leave Elmhurst and travel without having to be told or influenced.
What are Mom and Dad's favorite foods?
Maeve: Mom likes Greek food and fancy cheese. Dad likes anything with meat.
Liam: Mom likes cheese and Dad likes meat and pea soup.
What do you, Mom and Dad always do together?
Maeve: Go on hikes and get lost.
Liam: Play cards together.
What is the SAME about you and Mom and Dad?
Maeve: Mom and I like drama shows. Dad and I love nature.
Liam: Mom and I have brown eyes and I share their intelligence. (laughing as I type)
What is DIFFERENT about you and Mom and Dad?
Maeve: Mom doesn't like shopping. Dad and I have very different musical taste.
Liam: Mom likes to go on excursions and explore. Dad and I disagree on music.
How do you know Mom and Dad love you?
Maeve: Mom is always there and caring for us and our needs. Dad would sing me songs at bedtime.
Liam: Because they tell me every day.
What is Mom and Dad's favorite place?
Maeve: Mom loves a fun night out with friends. Dad loves Newfoundland.
Liam: Mom loves being with her family. Dad loved Pucon and Barcelona.
