I have never been someone to make New Year's resolutions. Always seemed like nonsense to wait until January 1 to make a change. Well, this year is different. In fact, I had trouble limiting the list to ten. I don't know why I feel differently about it this year, but it is probably a side effect of this new life that we have created. As I sit here in lovely Barcelona, I am extremely motivated to push myself to be a better person. I am making the list public just in case inertial forces begin to overwhelm. So here is the list in no particular order.
- At least once a day, tell my wife that I love her.
- Teach a weekly 'financial literacy' class to my children.
- Make 70 successful volatility crush trades. This should be achievable if I put on 25 earnings trades each quarter. Success being defined by making at least one penny of profit.
- Double donations to the Canaan Orphanage in Tanzania. Click here if you would like to help.
- Travel to eight new countries.
- Take ten minutes a day to pray or to meditate.
- Find an old friend and renew our friendship.
- Write and publish a book.
- Perform a pro bono engineering/project management assignment. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
- Talk to my Mom and Dad at least once per week.
